Hebrews not only calls for real faith in the Finisher, it describes the erosion of of false faith into total apostasy. We wish to allow the Word to wash us, nourish true faith, and reveal to us any false faith.
Psalm 116 begins with an affirmation of love for the Lord. “Join All the Glorious Names” sings of the ultimate Prophet, Priest, and King – Yeshua our Messiah.
Psalm 42, our first Scripture reading confronts the failing hope and faith in a believer with sound counsel. We then sing this psalm together.
Our New Testament reading describes Jesus confronting false faith with some hard demands, forcing people to see why they were coming to Christ. “O For Grace to Love Him More” should be the heart-cry of everyone with true faith.
We unite our heart in corporate prayer, the singing of the doxology and a time of giving, each of which calls for true faith.
We then search our hearts with the book of Hebrews, considering which of the five warnings against false faith apply to us. We close with our hearts’ desire: “O For A Closer Walk With God”.
